Nicolas TONON, would you indroduce the Haras de Jardy Golf Club, close to Paris and Versailes?

On our site we have 86 driving-range mats, 52 out of them are covered. They are lighted every day until 23 h. We feature also a 9 holes golf course, 1600 meter long (1750 yards) and approved for index calculation down to 0.

Every thursday we propose animations called "les nocturnes de Jardy", with an approach contest, coached driving range which means that a golf teacher goes from mat to mat and gives free advices to players.

We organize, at the same time, club fittings thanks to Clement Truchet of Golf Exactitude (from Suresnes), every thrusday evening. We are also partnering with Decathlon to organize demonstrations once a month, during these "nocturnes".

What is your main goal?

We are mainly Golf Instruction minded, with our large driving range, our 9 holes golf course quickly accessible, and our instruction method called "Formule InfiniTee", which is a one year instruction concept. At the beginning before gaining the "carte verte" you may attend an unlimited number of golf training courses, up to one hour by day, then you may play unlimited rounds on our course.
Year end's goal is to be able to play on any regular golf course, to cope with golf game on our own, and why not catch an index. The "Formule InfiniTee" offers up to one course hour by day, and advantages i talked about for 82 € by month.

You said that you have 5 permanent teachers and 8 overall on weekend. isn't it?

Yes, exactly. Our customers are mostly working people, so we have more taff on week-end and in the evenings, because our driving range is lighted until 11 pm every day.

At the end of the year, do students get a typical index?

We have no detailled average because our students are mainly leasure golf students. When i look at them playing, i guess that most of them get a golf level between 35 and 40.

So they are future leasure golfers?

Yes, we may say that it is a kind of "carte verte +". Golfers instructed here are under 53,5,  That's what we can see at the end of the rating trial round that they may do.
Students are satistied by our concept because it is not just a "carte verte" and that's all. After the "carte verte" they still have unlimited access to our golf course. It is pretty important and a real advantage, that's why we offer a full year package.

Your facilities include a restaurant, ...

Yes, a restaurant with a terrace with a view on tennis courts. We have 20 tennis courts and 4 are covered. All tennis courts are lighted until 23 h, like the driving range, with thrusday evenings' animations and free a teacher running free tennis courses.

Do you feature a pro Shop ?

Our pro shop provides accessories, le helping out, gloves, balls, and we sell a lot of beginners' clubs as we are focused on instruction, but also apparels, clothes, mode, ...

Some figures ?

265 children in the golf school and 485 children in the tennis school. Already, more than 900 FFGolf's licences bought here with a year end target of 1000.

What is your faclities' acreage  ?
 

The site of Haras de Jardy takes up 76 hectares (188 acres) overall, and 35 hectares for the golf + tennis part.

To close this interview, let's speak about competitions. What does it mean for you?

Competitions are taking more room in our mind. We are working on a project for next year to build an Elite Pole for each level, for children born in 98, 99, and 2000. Our goal is to get a good ranking in the "Tour Elite Poucet 2009" and to become the live-box of young parisian golf players.

For adults, we offer a Performance Training for 92 €/month. The goal is to bring players to competitions and lower their index. The principle is : 1 course hou every week with a teaching program planned over one year and a teacher's follow up, with unlimited access to the golf course to practice on the turf what is learned during course.
